Ervin Zukanovic says Luciano Spalletti has made Roma “more organised” since his return.

The Coach replaced Rudi Garcia on the Olimpico bench in January, and the Giallorossi are on an unbeaten run of seven Serie A games.

Despite that, the tactician was critical of his team after defeat to Real Madrid on Tuesday night, and Zukanovic believes his approach was the right one.

“He’s very fired-up and emotional, he’s a Coach you have to listen to and do what he asks,” Zukanovic explained to Roma Radio.

“I think his way is the right one, now we’re more organised and playing better. We were disappointed after the Real Madrid game, because we had a lot of chances to score.

“Real took their chances and we didn’t. We played well at the Bernabeu so it’s unfortunate. What’ important now is the last 10 League games.

“We want to get into the Champions League [again], for me those were two unforgettable nights and it’s a beautiful sensation for we players.

"Udinese? We need to go there and look to play our game. There are no easy matches in Italy.

"All of the teams in the league are tough, despite the fact that Udinese are having a difficult time of it right now.

"They play with three up front but it’s up to us to prepare well for the game and try to win it."

Zukanovic also discussed his upbringing, having been forced to flee his native Bosnia in the midst of civil war.

“Sarajevo? I miss it, but that’s life. I was born there, I started playing there and that’s where my family are. It’s a multicultural historic city.

“When the war broke out we fled to Germany, I was there for five years before returning home.

“Everyone told me about the Bubamara football school, and I was there for two or three years before I changed teams.

“I don’t remember a lot about the war, I only lived through it for about a month, you should ask Edin [Dzeko, a fellow Bosnian], he knows more than me as he went through it for five years.

“Our relationship before Roma? He went to the Czech Republic [with FK Tepice], I went elsewhere so there wasn’t much time to stay in touch.”
