Ervin Zukanovic admits he won’t bring pace to the Roma defence but “I cover space well”.
The defender has joined the Lupi from Sampdoria, and was officially presented today alongside Diego Perotti.
“Everyone knows my characteristics,” Zukanovic told reporters.
“I’m intelligent, a bit slow – but not too much – I cover space well.
“I came to Italy as a centre-back, in my first year with [Eugenio] Corini I played in the centre, and at first with [Rolando] Maran I played at centre-back.

“Then he tried me at full-back, I had a good game and then played the whole season there. The important thing is to help the team.”
The Bosnian international was believed to be close to joining VFB Stuttgart, and revealed exactly how close he was to making the move to Germany.
“It was quick. There was an offer from Germany, I decided to go but when I got to the airport I didn’t feel good.
“It was exciting, because I’ve changed countries a lot of times in my career, but my family is happy in Italy, they didn’t want to go to Germany.
“Then my agent told me about Roma and I was happy.”
