Cagliari Coach Gianfranco Zola looks forward to the match against Parma, but reveals he would have preferred a ‘better situation’ for rival Roberto Donadoni.

The Rossoblu bagged their first win under the new Italian boss as they defeated Cesena last Sunday.

Their Coach, nicknamed the Magic Box, already expressed his satisfaction at the result, went on to discuss the future of the team.

“I am truly pleased at the way the club is acting, we are very much at work on strengthening the team", Zola has said in an interview with Sky Sports 24.

“Of course it's no simple task, but we're trying, and in my opinion we're following the right path.

“But I think a lot will depend on the new arrivals and the contributions that they will be able to give.”

Cagliari are next in action this evening in the Coppa Italia against Parma, who are six points below the Sardinian club and a direct rival in the battle to avoid relegation.

“I have an excellent friendship with their Coach Roberto [Donadoni]. I wish I could have seen him in a better situation for the both of us, but it's going to be a pleasure.”
