Zola had reportedly been lined up as a sporting director if Sarri replaced Antonio Conte as Chelsea’s Coach, but Fulvio Marrucco claims his client could yet head back to the Blues, even without the former Napoli boss.
“Sarri to Chelsea? I can only answer for Zola: I don’t know if Sarri will be the new Blues Coach,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“The first step is the possible sacking of Conte. After that, Chelsea will have to reach an agreement with Napoli and then Sarri.
“I’ve never met the Blues, but the idea of Zola going there doesn’t run parallel to Sarri’s arrival in London.
“Zola’s a legend there. We must clarify what the role of my client will be.”
The former Italy attacker scored 80 goals in 311 games for Chelsea between 1996 and 2003, winning two FA Cups, a Cup Winners’ Cup and a European Super Cup.
