Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gianluigi Donnarumma are edging closer to extending their Milan contracts after flying out for a meeting with agent Mino Raiola.

The players were spotted taking a helicopter from the training ground to Raiola’s home in Monte Carlo on Saturday.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they are both eager to stay next season and could even accept pay cuts to make it happen.

They had been dubious, but the club’s decision to shelve the Ralf Rangnick experiment and stick with coach Stefano Pioli made a huge difference.

Ibra’s contract runs to the end of this season, but as he turns 39 in October, it’d be a one-year extension with pay based on performances and results.

That would mean taking a salary cut, but also has a proviso for a future role as global ambassador of the AC Milan brand.

As for Donnarumma, his current deal is due to expire in June 2021.

It’s bound to be a short-term extension to 2022 and with a release clause of just under €50m, to be activated if Milan fail to qualify for the Champions League.
