According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Joshua Zirkzee and Benjamin Sesko are Milan‘s priority targets in attack for 2024-25, but Manchester United and Arsenal are ‘the biggest threats’ to the Rossoneri in the race for the Bologna star.

Milan are expected to sign a new centre forward in the January transfer window and according to Wednesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport on page 12, Zirkzee is their primary target, followed by RB Leipzig forward Sesko.

According to the report, €40m won’t be enough to sign Zirkzee, as Bologna hope to get at least €75m from his sale. This is the same transfer fee Manchester United paid to sign Rasmus Højlund last summer. However, the Rossoblu hope to keep the promising Dutch forward for one more season at the club if they qualify for the Champions League.

Bayern Munich have a €40m buy-back option, but according to Gazzetta, they are unwilling to activate it.

Therefore, the biggest threat to Milan in the race for Zirkzee comes from the Premier League. Manchester United have already opened preliminary talks, while Arsenal’s playing style would suit the striker’s characteristics.
