Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee is linked with Juventus, Manchester United and Arsenal, but it’s reported his preferred destination is Milan.
The Dutch centre-forward has been a sensation in Serie A this season with 10 goals and four assists in 28 games, helping the Rossoblu break away in fourth place and put them on track for a Champions League spot.
The Bayern Munich youth product is expected to move on this summer at a massive profit and there is no shortage of clubs interested in his services.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Zirkzee has a preference for Milan and has told his agents to help pave the way for this dream transfer.
The Rossoneri have a long history with Dutch football, going back to the legendary trio of Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit and Frank Rijkaard.
The same report suggests that Milan are preparing a proposal that should be able to convince Bologna, namely €50m cash plus ownership of Alexis Saelemaekers.
Belgium international Saelemaekers is already at the Stadio Dall’Ara on loan this season and would make it a permanent transfer.
Considering Manchester United paid €75m plus bonuses for Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta, Bologna feel that Zirkzee is worth a similar sum.
There is also another reason why Bologna need to monetise this as much as possible, as due to the €8.5m purchase from Bayern Munich in 2022, they owe the German giants 40 per cent of the future sell-on fee.
