La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Inter could include Valentin Carboni in a player-plus-cash swap deal for Joshua Zirkzee, but the Nerazzurri could also give up on a clause for Giovanni Fabbian.

Inter have joined the race to sign Bologna star Zirkzee and La Gazzetta dello Sport explains the Nerazzurri’s potential strategy to sign the exciting Dutch striker in the summer.

The pink paper says Carboni is a footballer Inter are willing to include in a player-plus-cash swap deal to lower Zirkzee price tag which will exceed €50m in the summer.

Carboni is currently on loan at Monza where he has scored two goals and provided four assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.

According to Gazzetta, Fabbian is another player who can potentially be included in negotiations even if, in this case, it would not be a real swap deal.

Bologna, in fact, signed the 20-year-old from Inter on a permanent transfer last summer, but the Nerazzurri have an option to re-sign the promising midfielder for €12m in 2025. In the meantime, Bologna can’t sell the player to any other club, so Inter could accept cancelling this clause and getting Zirkzee for a lower fee.

Milan and Arsenal are also interested in Zirkzee and Gazzetta reported on Wednesday that the Gunners were ready to offer the Dutch striker a €6m-a-year contract until 2029.

  1. Would be the perfect addition to the team, well beyond G-son. Let’s see if Inter got money for such an operation after losing Skriniar on a free.
