Joshua Zirkzee’s Bologna release clause is valid from July 1, so Milan cannot keep stalling over the agent’s commission, especially with new reports Manchester United are ready to pay.

The striker can leave for €40m and that clause can be activated from tomorrow.

Milan agreed personal terms with the player’s entourage weeks ago, but they have not concluded the deal because they are refusing to pay the €15m commission demanded by agent Kia Joorabchian.

They see it as a matter of principle and will not bow to such a huge additional cost just for his representative.

Zirkzee commission stalling Milan

This is allowing Manchester United to step in, and according to the Corriere di Bologna newspaper, Erik ten Hag spoke directly to Zirkzee in order to convince him that an Old Trafford experience would be wise.

The forward had seemed eager to remain in Serie A, especially as Milan would guarantee regular playing time and qualified for the Champions League.

However, if they are refusing to pay the commission, that would not be an issue for the Premier League side.
