Thomas Zilliacus insists he wants to buy Inter but doesn’t ‘want to be pushy’ out of respect for President Steven Zhang.

The Finnish entrepreneur had not hidden his desire to acquire a majority stake in Inter during the summer and reiterated that he’d love to purchase the Nerazzurri in an interview with SempreInter.com.

“I have said publicly that I am interested in buying Inter. However, there has to be an interest by the current owners to sell Inter too and I’m not sure that is what they want to do,” he stated.

“I’ve seen statements by Suning where they have said that their commitment to Inter is long-term. And I want to respect their will, I don’t want to be pushy.

“Without going into any detail, I can say that right now there are no direct negotiations ongoing. But I don’t want to go into any more detail. I have too much respect for the Zhang family and the club’s directors,” Zilliacus continued.

“If they want to say something about this matter then it is completely up to their discretion. I just don’t want to come across as pushy or go ahead with things. Or in any way say something that could be misunderstood.”
