Napoli confirm that Piotr Zielinski has resumed training after respiratory problems, while Kostas Manolas is in Greece for family reasons amid confusion over an airport fine.

Zielinski had gone off just a few minutes into Sunday’s Serie A match against Empoli after struggling to breathe properly.

He had numerous tests, including for COVID-19, and all of them came back negative.

After a few days of rest, the Poland international resumed training with the rest of the squad, as confirmed by a statement from the club.

Napoli’s Manolas fined by Guardia di Finanza in Naples Airport

Meanwhile, the same statement also made clear that defender Manolas has been given permission by the club to fly back to Greece for personal reasons.

He already hit the headlines today with reports he was fined by the Guardia di Finanza – financial police – for carrying more money in cash that is allowed by customs, rumoured to be circa €20,000.

There is confusion here too, with CalcioNapoli24 insisting there was no fine and the money was below the threshold for customs checks.
