Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Inter ahead of a possible free transfer to the Stadio Meazza next summer.

The Poland international’s contract at the Stadio Maradona runs out in June 2024 and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are the most likely destination for him next season.

The report claims Inter and Zielinski have reached a verbal agreement over a €4.5m-a-year contract until June 2027.

According to Gazzetta, no club has yet matched Inter’s proposal, neither Napoli with a contract extension offer nor Juventus.

This, however, doesn’t mean the deal is done and that Zielinski will join Inter in 2024-25.

The Nerazzurri had also reached a verbal agreement with Lille defender Tiago Djalo ahead of a free transfer in June, but Juventus beat their rivals’ competition by reaching an agreement with the French club for January, so Djalo is expected to undergo his medical in Turin next week.
