Piotr Zielinski admits Napoli have a weakness after their 1-1 Europa League draw with AZ Alkmaar. ‘We waste opportunities.’
The Partenopei had taken the lead through Dries Mertens, but were pegged back by Bruno Martins Indi and rescued by David Ospina, who saved the Teun Koopmeiners penalty.
“We created chances, but could’ve done more and finished them better,” Zielinski told Sky Sport Italia.

“We created chances, but could’ve done more and finished them better,” Zielinski told Sky Sport Italia.
“It’s a pity, we wanted to win at all costs, but it was not a simple game. I think today we weren’t clinical enough in front of goal. That is a weakness, because we’ve had other matches where we wasted opportunities and ended up with draws or even defeats. We need to improve that.”
Napoli are still top of the group with 10 points, followed by Real Sociedad and AZ Alkmaar on eight.
The final game has Napoli hosting the Spaniards, while AZ take on bottom club Rijeka.
Zielinski is back to being a regular for Napoli after several weeks out with COVID-19, although he is adopting a few different tactical roles.
“I am personally getting back into shape, slowly, and I am trying to improve game by game.
“I try to give my best wherever I am placed, but I have played more and feel better in a three-man midfield on the left. That’s where I started, it’s what I am accustomed to, but I am always ready to change if it will help my teammates.”
