Zielinski: ‘I could’ve scored more’

Piotr Zielinski believes it’s been a positive year for Napoli and they can only get stronger, but admits he “could’ve scored more goals.”

The Azzurri host Inter on Sunday night before they travel to Bologna on the final day on the Serie A season.

“We hope to do well in these last two games and finish the season on a high note,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“The season has been positive on the whole, but maybe we could have done a little better in the cup competitions.

“We hope to do well in these last two games and finish the season on a high note,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“The season has been positive on the whole, but maybe we could have done a little better in the cup competitions.

“We didn’t achieve the goals that we aimed for, but the team has quality and experience, and next year we will be even stronger.”

The 24-year-old Poland international has played 47 times in all competitions for the Azzurri this season, scoring six times while providing two assists.

“Maybe I could have scored more goals this season, and I probably could have had 10 easily, but I’m satisfied with my performances and next year I will give even more to the team.”

Zielinski changed role under Carlo Ancelotti and should remain part of his plans for next term.

“We have a strong squad with a lot of quality, but the Coach will decide who will leave and who will stay.

“I would think that most of us will remain though because we have been together with the Coach for a year and we will want to do better next season.”
