Napoli attempted to offer Piotr Zielinski a new contract recently, but the Polish midfielder refused the proposal as he waits for a move to Inter.

The 29-year-old was close to making a move to Al-Hilal in the summer transfer window but ultimately decided to stay for one final season with the Partenopei. His current deal expires at the end of this season.

Napoli do not want to lose Zielinski on a free transfer and offered him a four-year contract worth around €4.5m net per year earlier this season, but he rejected the deal. He’s been heavily linked with a move to Simone Inzaghi’s Inter in recent months.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Napoli recently offered Zielinski a new deal – a three-year contract worth €5m, with a €20m release clause, but he again refused the offer, waiting to join Inter on a free transfer in the summer.

Next month, the 29-year-old will be able to sign a pre-contract with the Nerazzurri. He is set to be offered a three-year deal with an option for a fourth, with a salary of €4.5m net plus add-ons. A signing bonus and agent commissions will also be attached.
