Piotr Zielinski has reportedly agreed to the terms of a new contract with Napoli, which’ll see his salary drop significantly.

The 29-year-old Polish midfielder played a key role in Luciano Spalletti’s squad last system, helping them end their 33-year wait for the Scudetto.

Zielinski entered this summer with just a year left on his contract at Napoli and was linked with both Lazio and clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Page 12 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Zielinski has now agreed to sign a new contract with Napoli, which’ll see his wages drop from the current €4.5m net to just over €2.5m net per season.

Napoli are now working on resolving the contract situations of a number of his teammates, like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Hirving Lozano and Mario Rui.

The Polish midfielder has made 329 appearances across all competitions for Napoli since his arrival in August 2016, scoring 47 goals and providing 44 assists.
