“Italy is always in my heart. Juventus have always been important to me,” the 48-year-old confessed.

“I don’t know [if you will see me in Italy again]. Now I’m here. Let’s see.”

According to Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Zidane is certain he will one day sit on the Bianconeri bench, representing the club he played for from 1996 to 2001.

Their headline notes it’s ‘not a question of if, but when’ Zizou will return to Turin.

This summer could well be the right time, as Andrea Pirlo is hanging by a thread after a dismal season in Serie A and the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Zidane is in his second stint at Real Madrid and his contract is due to expire in June 2022.
