Onda Cero has broken the news that the French coach spoke to his team after the defeat in the Champions League semi-final against Chelsea, announcing his Real Madrid exit at the end of the season.

Zidane held a pre-match press conference ahead of today's match against Athletic, saying: "I don't know what will happen in the future. Anything is possible, it's Real Madrid."

Reports in Italy and Spain suggest Zidane is one of the candidates to replace Andrea Pirlo in the Juventus dugout at the end of the season as the 2006 Italy World Cup winner is expected to be sacked at the end of the current campaign.

On the other hand, former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri could replace Zidane at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Football Italia can confirm the Tuscan tactician met the Merengues last week and is one of the three candidates that could be appointed Real Madrid coach in 2021-22 along with Los Blancos' legend Raul.
