Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane admits Roma are “very strong” but “I’m more concerned with my own team”.

The Spanish giants won the first leg at Stadio Olimpico 2-0, and are looking to seal their place in the Champions League Quarter-Finals tomorrow.

“They’re a very good team, but I’m more concerned with my own team,” Zidane told reporters in the pre-match Press conference.

“I know it’ll be difficult, they’re very strong. We have to concentrate on this match, all games are there to be played.

“I keep repeating that, because that’s the way it is. If we don’t play well we could lose and be eliminated, that’s clear.

“We’re focused and we’re preparing in the best way. It’s the most important match for us, because it’s the next one.

“When you start your career in Coaching it’s to play matches like tomorrow. I’ve already had these emotions as a player, it’s an indescribable feeling.

“What we have to do tomorrow is to win, we can only think about tomorrow’s game. Many people will think it’ll be easy, but that’s not the case.

“It’ll be difficult, we have to play well.”

Players including top-scorer Cristiano Ronaldo were whistled before the weekend’s 7-1 win over Celta Vigo, could the Portuguese star be sold in the summer?

“I’d say no, I’m the Coach and I want him on the team. The whistles have always existed, they whistled me, they’ve whistled many other players.

“Sometimes the whistles can motivate you, after all the fans basically just want the players to do well.

“I always see a full stadium, so they can’t be as disappointed as people say.”

The former Juventus midfielder was then asked about James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale, with the latter recovering from a calf injury.

“Bale? He’s ready to play, that’s the most important thing,” Zidane confirmed.

“Marcelo? He’s ready to play with us.

“As for James Rodriguez, he’s working hard and training well. The most important thing is that he makes every effort on the pitch, he’s a talented player and we always ask him to do more.

“He’s improving, and that’s showing.”
