Juventus‘ attempts to sign Paul Pogba could be put in jeopardy by Zinedine Zidane, according to reports in Italy.

France international Pogba is reportedly to close to agreeing a free transfer to Turin giants once his contract with Manchester United expires on June 30.

His availability has alerted many of Europe’s top clubs but Juve appear to be winning the race for his signature due to their relationship with the player following his four years with the club from 2012 to 2016.

However, Tuttosport report that while Juve director Pavel Nedved has been in regular contact with Pogba’s entourage, the possible arrival of Zidane as manager at Paris Saint-Germain could convince the 29-year-old to choose the Ligue 1 giants.

PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino is likely to leave his position soon and Zidane is among the favourites to replace him.

The French champions are one of the sides reportedly interested in signing Pogba, while Real Madrid and even Manchester City have also been linked with a move.

9 thought on “Zidane could scupper Juventus’ attempts to sign Pogba – report”
  1. Almost no chance that Zidane would pick up PSG, which means a betray of Real Madrid. What if the Middle East offers 50m net salary? Only god knows.

  2. I don’t see the logic in players like Pogba, who never give their all, claiming they would be swayed by playing under managers like Zidane, who demand that their players give their all.

Moreover, I don’t see why Zidane would want to be a nightclub manager / PSG manager.

  3. You can never go home anymore. Return to a club you once played for and left seldom, if ever, live up to expectations. Pogba should know that. So, go ahead, Paul, and go back to Juve. All non-Juve fans are looking forward to the inevitable disappointment.

  4. Mr. Fish and Chips, jellied eels and mushy peas, you still haven’t figured it out. Believe what you want to, but I never wrote that. The clue is in the fact that I only focus on the Legend of The Ten Rings, first and foremost. It is your fellow Fish and Chipper doing the Lord Inzaghi routine. The little fella is quite good, but nowhere near as creative as me. Americans always set the trends and the Brits always copy. It is called the world order. You are an after thought, but again I shall summon you when I request. Once again I am not an Inter fan nor a Juve hater. That is why I never use an “R” or a “B” when calling them. Now innit time for some Earl Grey, 4 custard creams and the 20th tea break of the day Governor?

  5. What Juve should do: Leave Pogba to PSG and hire Zidane
What Juve will do: keep Allegri, sign Pogba and Di Maria.
