Napoli are searching for the right replacement for Luciano Spalletti and are reportedly considering approaching Zinedine Zidane.

The 64-year-old Spalletti has already confirmed his decision to leave the Partenopei this summer after guiding the club to the third Scudetto in their history, an achievement that’s permanently written him into the history books in the Campania capital.

Napoli are now considering a long list of possible replacements for the Italian coach, one of which was Vincenzo Italiano, who has instead decided to move forward with Fiorentina following a meeting with the club’s management.

As reported by Il Mattino, sources in France suggest that one of Napoli’s top options to replace Spalletti is Zidane, who is still out of work following his departure from Real Madrid two years ago.

The former midfielder recently turned down a second approach from Paris Saint-Germain and is carefully considering his next move.

One thing that won’t help Napoli’s case is Zidane’s playing career; the Frenchman spent five years with Juventus from 1996 to 2001, and is not afraid to reject jobs based off his attachment to certain teams, like turning down PSG due to his love of Olympique Marseille.
