“In the first seven games we’ve played Roma, Inter and Napoli, who are among the Scudetto contenders, and we’ve done well, taking five points.”

Samp held the Nerazzurri to a draw at Marassi on Saturday, and Zenga saw a good performance from his side.

“You can talk about things after the game, but virtually all of the scoring chances were ours. After 26 minutes of the second half, there was the chance for [Luis] Muriel where we could have gone 2-0 and the match would have been over then.

“We also had the advantage in terms of possession. I think at the end of the season the partnership of Eder and Muriel will have scored more than all the others [strike-partnerships] in Serie A.”
