There have been strong reports the Brazilian-Italian striker will move to San Siro on transfer deadline day.
“We want him to stay. We’ve found the key to playing in a certain way and we can have fun this season,” said Coach Zenga.
“I have a group of professionals who leave other problems outside of the locker room. I will say I’m happy the transfer deadline is tomorrow.”
The Blucerchiati were 2-0 down at the Stadio San Paolo, but Eder scored twice in 120 seconds to snatch a draw.
“At half-time we sorted out a few things that weren’t working and the team was set out better. We conceded two identical goals in the first half and the strikers were too narrow.
“My lads did well to never give in and without that great Pepe Reina save at the end, we could even have won.”
It’s a far cry from the 4-0 Europa League defeat to Vojvodina on Zenga’s debut last month.
“Problems must always be analysed in a calm and rational manner. We found the solutions to those issues straight away.”
