Walter Zenga warned Sampdoria’s potential Europa League opponents Vojvodina and Spartaks Jurmala are “tough, but in our destiny.”
The draw was made today for the third preliminary round of the competition, so Samp will face either Serbian side Vojvodina or Latvians Spartaks Jurmala.
It is extremely likely to be Vojvodina on July 30, because they won the first leg 3-0.

“Life really is strange,” smiled new Sampdoria Coach Zenga. “I went to Belgrade 10 years ago with Steaua Bucharest. Sampdoria are back in Europe and it could be against one of Sinisa Mihajlovic and Vujadin Boskov’s old teams.
“I am familiar with Serbia, where I won the League and Cup with Red Star Belgrade. They’re in our destiny.
“If Vojvodina do go through, they will be a tough opponent and we’ll be made to work very hard. We must focus on ourselves and being ready for this appointment.”
