But the current Al Nassr boss is refusing to entertain speculation that he may be asked by President Massimo Moratti to save the Nerazzurri's season.

"Nobody has called me," the 1990 World Cup 'keeper told Sky Sport 24. "Benitez is a good Coach and he'll get the team out of trouble.

"Inter have a game on Wednesday against Twente in the Champions League and I'm certain they'll win that."

Inter are going through tough times after defeat at Chievo left them nine points behind current leaders Milan.

"I'm of the opinion that an important squad, which has won everything, will know how to get out of this together with a Coach who has experience," the former Catania and Palermo tactician added.

"It's not just about pre-season training or the fact that the players have 'full stomachs', you have to be at training everyday to understand the situation.

"Benitez is there everyday and knows what occurs.

"Sometimes you just need to win one game and everything changes."
