Zdenek Zeman has revealed that he is looking to ‘entertain’ the Cagliari fans this season.

The Czech Coach has been appointed at the Sardinian side this summer, taking over from Diego Lopez.

And the veteran tactician has insisted that his new side can surprise a few people in this upcoming campaign.

“I’m explaining to the lads theat we need to work hard if we want to entertain the people in the stands – the real fans,” he told Corriere dello Sport.

“I think there’s a space for us this season. I am enjoying putting my football philosophy on these lads.”

Zeman then commented on the new stadium, and President Tommaso Giulini’s dream of playing in the Champions League by 2020.

“The stadium is important, but I want to make a distinction between sport and profiteering.

“Sometimes, if you build a stadium it becomes an excuse to get investment for in and around the stadium – and I don’t think that’s conducive to football.

“I am glad that the President has great ambitions and dreams – that is fundamental in our sport.

“But it’s also important to have a long-term, stable project.”
