Zeman: ‘Inter good for Cagliari’

Zdenek Zeman insists he is “satisfied” with Cagliari’s defending, but Inter’s system will suit his strikers.

Zdenek Zeman insists he is “satisfied” with Cagliari’s defending, but Inter’s system will suit his strikers.

The Sardinians are bottom of the table with one point from four games and visit San Siro on Sunday at 14.00 UK time (13.00 GMT). Click here for a match preview.

“Against Torino we defended pretty well, as they were not dangerous from open play, only causing problems from dead ball situations,” said Zeman in his Press conference.

“We are missing something in attack, passing from the back to the forward lines, but I am satisfied with our defending.”

Cagliari scored three goals this season and conceded seven, whereas Inter have leaked just one in all competition.

Despite the difficulty of the test, Zeman assures this can be a turning point.

“I like playing against three-man defences, as it gives more space for my strikers to move. Cagliari are a good team with quality and I hope to improve them.

“Victor Ibarbo is a player who potentially can score many, many goals, but he doesn’t play to reach the goal and I have to change that mentality.”
