“Fiorentina are a side to be feared, but with inconsistent results. They have seven men who play the ball and have certainly lost some important forwards, but Babacar is taking the opportunity to shine and Cuadrado is so good at taking players on,” said Zeman in a Press conference.
“Mario Gomez was held back by injuries, but when he’s in shape then he will prove himself in Italy too, the way he always has done throughout his career.
“When I faced Montella with Roma, they were playing the best football in Italy. Now they are lacking something in defence and attack to get back to those levels.”
Cagliari are fresh from a spectacular 3-3 draw away to Napoli, fighting back from 2-0 down and 3-2 to get a point at the San Paolo.
“I could use the same attacking trident as last week, but I have other options too. Longo is most useful when we are able to pin the opposing team back and I was not so arrogant as to assume we could do that on Napoli’s home turf.
“We want to win with Fiorentina. I hope to go from words to action, that is all I can promise the fans.”
