Zdenek Zeman has resigned as the Coach of lower League outfit Foggia after failing to win promotion.
The controversial Czech was hired by the Lega Pro side last summer for the third time in his career, after his stints in '86-'87 and '89-'94.
"I came here to win the championship," he said on Monday. "I wasn't able to do that and that's why I have made this decision.
"I consider this to be a defeat. The club haven't taken the news well, but this decision is irrevocable.

"I thank the club for giving me the chance to take charge of Foggia again."
Zeman, born in 1947, hadn't bossed in Italy since his 2006 spell at southern minnows Lecce.
"I still don't know what I will do in the future," he continued. "I can even stay at home."
Foggia finished sixth in Lega Pro 1B, with 45 points from 34 games.
