The 21-year-old has impressed in Serie B this term with 17 goals in 26 games for Ascoli after joining the club on loan.

Zaza is set to return to Doria in the summer, but he could be sold given that he’s only contacted until 2014 and talks regarding a renewal have stalled.

“I’ve heard the rumours of Juventus and I’d be proud if they were true,” the striker told Tuttosport. “However, my contract belongs to Sampdoria and it will be up to them to decide what happens.”

Meanwhile, the player’s agent, Christian Maifredi, has admitted that he’s discussed the player with the Old Lady.

“I’ve met with sporting director Fabio Paratici,” he told calciomercato.it. “But there has been contact with foreign clubs too.

“At the moment my client is wanted by two Italian sides and two from abroad.”

Paratici knows Zaza well given their time together at Marassi.
