Simone Zaza confirms “I’m very proud to be at Juventus, I hope to stay for a long time”.

The striker came off the bench and scored the winner in Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash with Napoli, and insists he’s happy in Turin despite a lack of playing time.

“Unfortunately I’ve not played much so far,” Zaza acknowledged.

“I’m glad I scored, it was a great feeling, a great achievement. Hopefully I can improve my record even further.

“To play at Juventus Stadium is a special feeling, I’d already been here as an opponent and it had a strange effect, but I really got chills when I scored against Sevilla, or the one against Torino when I heard the roar of the stadium.

“I’m very proud to be at Juventus, and I hope to stay for a long time. The relationship with the fans is great and after a period where they didn't know me they appreciate me now.

“Juventus is a point of arrival for me, and at the same time a starting point.

“My goal is to stay here and try to establish myself for many years.”

Zaza is known for his physical approach, and was asked about his favourite strikers growing up.

“One of my favourite strikers was [Marco] Van Basten, then also Il Fenomeno, Ronaldo as well as [Didier] Drogba and [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, I really like them.”
