The aunt of Milan’s Cristian Zapata has been freed less than 24 hours after being kidnapped in Colombia.

Maria Limbania was taken from her farm in Padilla by armed men in an apparent attempt to demand a ransom for her freedom.

“I was in my home,” she explained. “Then, all of a sudden, a hooded man smashed the windows, threatening me and my mother.

“They said they were looking for a ransom from my brother, Cristian’s dad. At first they told me that they were going to kill me, but then they reassured me that I wouldn’t be hurt.”

Colombian police are believed to have freed the woman 18 hours after she was taken.
