On-loan Udinese striker Duvan Zapata says Napoli ‘play the best football’ but ‘feel pressure, which they inherited from the previous management’.
The Colombian joined the Zebrette in the summer on a two-year loan move from the Partenopei and the two sides will face off in Serie A on Sunday.
“It’s a special match for me, Napoli are the club that believed in me and brought me to Europe, but I’d like to score a goal for Udinese,” Zapata said to Il Messaggero.

“De Canio? Our Coach is working above all on the mentality: he asks us to play calmly and also in the week we train our confidence, attempting some plays at speed that maybe we wouldn’t have tried before.
“Napoli have only called me once, after the injury and operation, to wish me a speedy recovery. Yes, I’m at Udinese on loan, but we’re talking about a long-term project of two seasons.
“Napoli play the best football in Italy, but sometimes they feel pressure. I think it’s something they’ve inherited from the previous management, when I was there too.
“Sometimes they lose their heads and make errors that they usually don’t commit. We must be good on Sunday to at keeping the game on course.
“Higuain? Now he’s one of the best strikers in the world, he’s scored goals in every season, but now when he focuses on goal he always does so in the centre, feeling the confidence of the team and the Coach. For a striker this is important.”
