Zapata has been out of action since suffering a thigh injury in October while on international duty with Colombia.

However, the Gazzetta dello Sport claims he has now returned from a six-day programme in Seville with Dr. Carlos Moreno Pedrosa and will resume training tomorrow.

The 28-year-old is unlikely to face Verona in Serie A this weekend, but Gian Piero Gasperini should have him back for the decisive fixture against Shakhtar in the Champions League on December 11.

Atalanta need to win in Ukraine to stand any chance of qualifying for the last 16.

Zapata scored seven goals in nine games for the Dea before he broke down while representing his country.
