Zapata’s long-range opener started it all for La Dea, but Matteo Pessina followed up with two goals on either side of Hirving Lozano’s effort.

The Colombian was proud of the team after the semi-final and dedicated his goal to his family.

“It’s to my family, to my children,” he told Rai Sport. “It was an important goal, but the team was important today.

“We didn’t give up, even when we were pressured. We knew it was a difficult match, but we made it.

“We held up well. In some situations we were too deep, but we played the right game and took advantage of the opportunities.”
