Napoli have announced that Alessandro Zanoli has tested positive for COVID-19, the latest case after Diego Demme and Matteo Politano.

The Partenopei face Inter at San Siro today at 17.00 GMT.

As per protocol, more swabs were taken after midnight last night and the results have shown that youth team player Zanoli has tested positive.

The statement makes clear that not only is Zanoli fully vaccinated, he also contracted the Coronavirus in the past.

He is in self-isolation and the rest of the matchday squad is negative.

This represents a growing concern within the Napoli camp, after Demme and then Politano tested positive for COVID-19.

Although vaccination does help lessen the effect of symptoms and protects from infection to a certain degree, it does not guarantee that you will not be infected.

Zanoli turned 21 last month and is a product of the Napoli youth academy who made three appearances for the senior squad this season between Serie A and the Europa League, all of them off the bench.
