Nicolò Zaniolo won’t start in Roma’s first summer friendly against Sunderland.

The Giallorossi face the Premier League side at the Albufeira Stadium in Portugal.

Zaniolo is reportedly pushing to leave the Giallorossi and didn’t train with the team during the last two days due to physical problems.

However, he has travelled with the team to Portugal and was called up by José Mourinho for today’s game with Sunderland which kicks off at 11 am UK time.

Juventus are interested in Zaniolo, but sources told Football Italia that the Old Lady is unwilling to match the Giallorossi’s €50m asking price.

New signing Nemanja Matic gets the nod for the Giallorossi and the same is true of Mile Svilar, who starts in goal.

Carles Perez, Eldor Shomurodov and Stephan El Shaarawy start in attack, but they are not expected to be regular starters under Mourinho next season and both Perez and El Sha could leave the club in the coming weeks.

The Italy international has attracted the interest of Atalanta.
