Nicolò Zaniolo hit out at ‘doomsayers’ on Instagram after his shoulder injury, as the Roma star assured ‘we’ll see each other in three weeks’ time.’

The Italy international landed awkwardly on his shoulder during the 1-0 Serie A victory over Cremonese at the Stadio Olimpico.

He was stretchered off and taken to the Villa Stuart clinic for X-Rays, which showed a dislocated shoulder, but no fractures.

Sky Sport Italia report that Zaniolo is expected to be out of action for three to four weeks.

Zaniolo himself confirmed this with a message on his Instagram Stories, which had a very pointed sense to it.

“For all the doomsayers who hoped it was something serious… we’ll see each other in three weeks’ time.”

He used the emoji for an owl because the Italian slang term for someone who wishes ill upon others is the ‘gufo.’

Roma went on to win the match 1-0 with a header from Chris Smalling on the Lorenzo Pellegrini corner.

It was their second 1-0 win of the season after the same result away to Salernitana last week.
