Zaniolo expected to be fully fit in time for Roma’s next match against Atalanta

Nicolo Zaniolo

Roma starlet Nicolò Zaniolo is expected to be fit to face Atalanta on Saturday this week following a recent muscle injury.

The 22-year-old Italian forward was forced to miss last night’s 2-0 win over Spezia due to an adductor injury picked up in the 3-2 win over CSKA Sofia last week, but now things are looking up for the player.

Zaniolo would have missed the game regardless of the injury, as he was suspended after receiving his fifth yellow card this season.

Calciomercato.com reports that the 22-year-old resumed training in Trigoria today after carrying out a series of physical tests, which returned positive results.

The Italian midfielder has struggled to find his footing under coach Jose Mourinho this campaign, failing to score a single goal and only providing one assist in 14 Serie A outings. His frustration can be highlighted by the fact that he’s picked up five yellow cards and one red this season.

Zaniolo was forced to miss Italy’s successful UEFA Euro 2020 campaign earlier this year after suffering a cruciate ligament rupture last September.

  1. Yes so he will last 16 Minutes in the pitch instead of 15.

Can’t see him having much of a career.
