Nicolò Zaniolo edited his Instagram bio cancelling Roma and agreed with the club not to train at Trigoria this morning, hoping for a last-minute transfer.

The Italy international has snubbed an offer from Bournemouth who had put on the table €30m plus add-ons. The Giallorossi accepted the bid, but the Premier League side failed to persuade the 24-year-old to join them.

He was not included in the team for the last two games against Spezia and Napoli and José Mourinho confirmed on Sunday that Zaniolo is no longer in the club’s plans after requesting to leave the club in January.

The former Inter and Fiorentina starlet edited his Instagram bio this morning, cancelling a mention to Roma. There is now only one word he uses to describe himself: ‘athlete’ while until yesterday it read ‘Football player of @officialasroma.’

According to Gazzetta, Zaniolo agreed with the club not to show up for this morning’s training session. The pink paper highlights that the decision was taken due to transfer reasons and is not linked to the threat received by the players last night, which forced him to call the police to get protection.
