Nicolo Zaniolo discussed the pressures in football and touched on his contract situation with Roma.
The 23-year-old Italian forward only has 18 months left on his current deal with the Giallorossi and has often been linked with a move to Juventus. It’s still unclear if Zaniolo will pen a new deal with Roma or not, with inconsistency often hampering his ability to regularly impress under Jose Mourinho.
Speaking to Sportmediaset, Zaniolo first discussed the pressures of football.
“Pressure is part of the game of football, I’m used to living with it. There are games in which I play well and others in which I do worse, but the important thing is to always be at the disposal of the coach and the team.”
The 23-year-old Italian forward then spoke about his future with the Giallorossi.
“I’m doing well at Roma, but now let’s think about the game. My agent will speak to the club, I don’t think about these things.”
Zaniolo has made 16 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in that time. He can often be a frustrating figure on the pitch, pulling off an impressive bit of skill before making a bad decision.
Roma are currently fighting for a spot in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia with Serie B side Genoa. Should they win, they’ll face the winner of Napoli-Cremonese.
He should look for a new club. The Mourinho experiment is not working out.
