Venezia coach Paolo Zanetti ‘fears’ Inter‘s attack and believes the Nerazzurri are among the candidates to win the Champions League.

Venezia host Inter at the Stadio Penzo tomorrow night. It kicks off at 19.45 UK time.

Inter have qualified for the Champions League last 16 with a game to spare after a 2-0 win over Shakhtar on Wednesday.

“We face a top team that is doing well in Italy and Europe,” Venezia Zanetti said at a press conference.

“I fear their numbers in attack. They have many champions, not only in attack. They are at a very high level, in Italy and Europe. They are among the candidates to win the Champions League.

“It’s difficult to win games in Serie A, but we must try to win also against the biggest clubs,” the coach continued.

“We lost against Spezia and Salernitana, where perhaps we missed something under the psychological aspect. Maybe there was more pressure on us as we had to impose our playing style.

“It’s not the same as defending well and trying to play in tight spaces. We are still trying to understand who we are, but we have proved that we can always put in a good performance. That’s the most important thing to achieve good results in the long run.”

  1. I thought it was JZ4, I was wondering why he was putting pressure on the side. It will be years before an Italian side wins it. Leaving quality aside the bias against Italian sides and favour towards Spanish sides in European competition will ensure this.

  2. You lot in the comments are unbelievable. I bet you said the same about Italy winning Euro2020.

Let me give you some profecies: Simone Inzaghi is realising how strong his team is. He under-estimated Inter, essencialy Lukaku and Hakimi departure proper shook him to his core, however he has already passed Conte and the title race is deffinitely a minimum 3 horserace (Lazio having a chance to held Napoli again come Sunday and if you ask me they come off of a great 3-0 away win in Moscow, whereas Napoli come from Moscow too, but from a 2-1 loss) .

Mark my words, Inter could repeat the treble if Di Marco, Correa and others improve a bit so the depth is enough.
