Javier Zanetti assures fans “this was not the real Inter” and they are still in a strong position in Serie A and the Champions League.
“We could certainly have avoided conceding the third goal, as we allowed too many counter-attack situations,” said the captain of their 3-1 defeat to Tottenham.
“Now let us not search for alibis, we just have to work hard. We are in a good position in the Champions League, plus we're right up there in Serie A.

“There are many games and we have to underline that. We are used to it, but every now and then there can be a lapse in concentration and above all sharpness.
“When you come to play in a packed stadium against a Tottenham side that started so brightly, it is never easy.”
Spurs have caught Inter at the top of Group A and are in front thanks to a superior head-to-head record.
“In any case, this was not the real Inter. Unfortunately many lads are out injured, then when one does come back, another pulls out.
“We know it all depends on us and our situation is anything but ugly.”
When asked if he would have dinner with Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, who is in Milan for tomorrow's Champions League game, Zanetti laughed off the question.
“No, but hopefully we can chat on the phone.”
