Inter vice-President Javier Zanetti discusses Rodrigo Palacio’s contract renewal – “he’s very valuable”.
It was announced today that the Argentinian international has extended his contract with the Nerazzurri, and will not stay at San Siro until 2017.
“We’re happy with what Rodrigo has done and is doing,” Zanetti told Inter Channel.

“We’re happy with what Rodrigo has done and is doing,” Zanetti told Inter Channel.
“He’s someone who is very valuable both on and off the pitch, and that’s the most important thing. The fans will be happy too.
“He deserves to win, he’s always done well for us when called upon. This renewal is deserved, I hope he can win in this shirt, because that’s the dream the squad has.
“Rodrigo has a lot of competition in attack, we’re lucky in that regard but the Coach [Roberto Mancini] knows his qualities, and knows he’s available to him if the team needs him.
“He’s started on the bench many times, but he’s always made his contribution.”
A win against Sassuolo in Sunday’s early game will see the Beneamata crowned winter champions, and Zanetti says that’s the goal.
“After the win at Empoli we’re thinking about Sunday’s game, which isn’t easy, just like all the games in the Italian League.
“We want to finish the first half of the season on top, because we’ve done a great job [so far].”
