Javier Zanetti believes the most “consistent” team will win the Scudetto – “I hope that team will be Inter”.
The Nerazzurri trail leaders Napoli by a point after defeat at San Paolo on Monday night, but the vice-President still sees them in the title fight.
“Our awareness is growing game by game,” Zanetti explained to Sky.
“[Coach Roberto] Mancini is doing a great job. It’s a balance League, and whoever wins it will be whoever is able to be consistent. I hope that team will be Inter.

“We’ve returned to being contenders, the lads have understood what it means to wear this shirt.”
Zanetti also defended his fellow Argentinian, Mauro Icardi, who has so-far failed to recapture his goalscoring form from last season.
“He’s an important reference point, because he’s the captain. When he starts scoring he won’t stop, as happens to a lot of players.
“The whole club loves him. We brought in a lot of top players this summer, and their nationality doesn’t matter.
“The important thing is that everyone knows that have to honour the shirt, and what the ultimate goal is.”
