Paolo Zanetti praises Venezia defenders after a 1-0 victory away at Bologna: ‘We won thanks to them.’
The Lagunari took all three points from the Stadio Dall’Ara thanks to a David Okereke goal in the second half.
However, Zanetti believes Venezia defenders played the most important role in Bologna.
“We were helped by an important performance from the rest of the team, but we won the game thanks to them,” Zanetti said at a press conference.
“We worked a lot on set-pieces and I deployed players who could be up to the task physically. We conceded a few opportunities, but they were never too dangerous.”
Among the top performers in defence, there was Mattia Caldara.
“He’s settling in after an adaptation period,” said Zanetti. “He put in high-level performances in the last four or five games.”
