A section of Rosanero supporters staged a protest yesterday after Beppe Iachini offered his resignation and with Walter Novellino set to become the club’s seventh different Coach of the season.
“Palermo are going through a delicate moment in a strange and difficult year,” Zamparini wrote on the club’s official website.
“This isn’t the time for protests, it’s the moment for COLLABORATION. We need to COLLABORATE together, so that Palermo stay in Serie A with the energy of everyone.
“Unfortunately, in the event of relegation the club with its President, team and the city of Palermo would go to Serie B.
“It’s not certain that the coaches can go to other clubs. For this reason all of us, from the club to the team, the fans to the city, are in the same boat all together and in the next ten matches we must COLLABORATE to avoid sinking.
“The job of those who run a club is to make decisions, which can sometimes be wrong. But the decisions must be made. I’ve always worked for the good of our club, time will tell if my decisions were right or wrong.
“In these last few months, the club has had to endure against its will the dismissal of Ballardini, Schelotto’s escape to Boca Juniors and Iachini’s departure for stress.
“It’s easy to protest, it’s more difficult to build: I need all of you to build Palermo’s safety with the same great passion that you have and that you’ve given me over the years.
“I don’t fear protests, but now it’s time to COLLABORATE.”
