The Rosanero President is meeting with Coach Beppe Iachini today, with the tactician reportedly unhappy with public criticism from the fiery patron.
However, that hasn’t stopped the President from launching another verbal attack on the team and the Coach.
“I don’t want to see Palermo end up in Serie B,” Zamparini told Il Giornale di Sicilia.
“The club doesn’t deserve it and – above all – the fans don’t deserve it. We need a breakthrough, Iachini must repent and change a system that isn’t working.
“There’s a defeatist and loser attitude, we’re going onto the pitch not with a 3-5-2 but with a 5-3-2, and if we continue like that we’ll lose to Napoli too, by another three goals.
“My Coach should change tactics.”
Palermo face Napoli on Sunday night, and Zamparini reveals that the Partenopei are interested in Franco Vazquez.
“I was hoping [President Aurelio] De Laurentiis would ask me for Vazquez, but he’s actually already asked me, as have others.
“He’s the best trequartista in Europe right now, I hope he’ll go to Napoli and not Milan or Juventus.
“The important thing is that De Laurentiis doesn’t scrimp too much on the price.”
