Juventus have been labelled as "pathetic" by Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini following this week's refereeing controversy at the Barbera.

The Old Lady criticised the performance of referee Emidio Morganti in their 2-1 defeat to the Rosanero.

Juve had more than one penalty appeal rejected by the official who failed to see a clear Cesare Bovo handball in the box.

"Juve's tears are pathetic," the Sicilian chief noted. "The Bovo incident was irrelevant and Morganti considered it as accidental.

"Juve's tears are pathetic," the Sicilian chief noted. "The Bovo incident was irrelevant and Morganti considered it as accidental.

"The penalty could have been awarded, I'm not saying that it shouldn't, but it would have changed nothing.

"The game would have still finished 2-1 to my Palermo. They would have scored via the penalty, or from a corner as they did.

"They certainly wouldn't have scored two…"

Zamparini, who has criticised officials himself this season, also warned Juve that his side have been hit more badly by referring mistakes this term.

"When you consider what we've suffered, this incident is about nothing."
