Maurizio Zamparini admits Coach Beppe Iachini “wants to resign, but the players and I are trying to convince him to stay at Palermo.”
The situation has spiralled rapidly into farce once again, as the tactician who returned on February 15 after being sacked on November 10 looks to be on his way out following a huge row with the President.
Zamparini was highly critical in public of Iachini’s “loser tactics” and infuriated the Coach.

Zamparini was highly critical in public of Iachini’s “loser tactics” and infuriated the Coach.
“Iachini wants to resign, but both the players and I are trying to convince him to stay at Palermo,” Zamparini told ItaSportPress.
“There is respect for Iachini and we won’t give him faith only until the Napoli game.”
There were reports Davide Ballardini would be recalled – the man who was fired for ‘breach of contract’ after a player coup on January 11.
“I have not called Ballardini, as first I want to convince Iachini to stay,” added the President.
“It’s not true that the fans don’t want me, as 99 per cent of the people in Palermo support me, it’s just a very small percentage who don’t love me.
“It’s just one per cent, but that exists all over the world.”
